Editor:
Alameda changed Haight School to Love School allegedly because former Governor (1867) Henry Haight was sympathetic to “slavery.” Will Haight Street [sic] now become Love Street? How about Washington Street? Clay and Webster? What name is proposed for Jackson Park?

So what will the people demand next? Eliminate Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? How about black coffee, colored laundry, segregating white laundry from colored laundry? Must we stop baking Brownies? What about Crackle Barrel Cheese? I like Italian sausage; must I stop eating that so as not to be a racist? Can we still play Chinese Checkers or the Mexican Train dominoes game?

You know, Yale University and New York City (the Duke of York) are named after “slave” owners! Do I yet hear a demand to change those names?

How far are we going with this Leftist foolishness? Does anyone really believe that these changes will lead to racial harmony?
